a difference a week makes

all the baby items have been shipped out for the holidays, living room is all cleaned up and we put up the tree yesterday. Love seeing it all cleaned up. :-)

busy, busy!!!!!!!!!

sorry I do not have any pics to post but I am snowed under with Christmas items for the babies as my group is wrapping up the donations this week. I am crocheting very little right now. I have made a couple little dresses and 2 newborn blankets. I hope to have everything here ready to ship out Next Friday!! here is a pic of what my living room looks like. it is so full the rest is in my family room and on my kitchen table! lol. I will be taking 6 weeks off from receiving donations so I can enjoy the holidays with my family. I will be working on items during that time as most of you know we can't just stop crocheting lol.

last few Christmas blankets

this is the final 5 preemie blankets I finished., this brings my total to 30 preemie blankets and hats. It sure was fun making all of these but I am ready to move onto a different color lol. I still have a few skeins of Christmas yarn so I may make a couple more.

Christmas dress

I took a break from all the preemie blankets to make this little dress. the button is Christmas bells :-) now back to blankets. I have 5 more to go to hit my 30 sets! yipee, almost there!

A Few Christmas blankets

here are a few of the preemie blankets I have done so far for the preemies. I am working fast as I can to get at 30 done by myself to make sure we have enough for all our babies :-)I have almost 20 completed!

WARNING #40 ILTY

This is a warning for everyone who is using the # 40 I Love This yarn from Hobby Lobby. IT BLEEDS!!!!!!!!! Even when washing in cold water it will turn your red and white blankets,hats and booties to red and pink! Hobby Lobby has been made aware of this problem for over a year and it still has NOT been corrected! One of the ladies in my group emailed them last year and they told her it should only happen once! well once is too many as thats all it takes to ruin all your hard work. I wrote them last week and have yet to hear anything back from them So if I were you I would NOT use the # 40 red. I have switched to red heart super saver in the cherry red. At least it does not bleed :-)Sorry to be so negative about such a wonderful product but I know alot of you are making Christmas items for the babies and wanted you to be aware of the problem.

busy, busy

I am working hard as I can on Santa hats and preemie blankets. Here is 1 pic of some of the hats. I have not taken time to take pics of the blankets yet but hopefully soon. I am also getting ready to start stuffing some of the stockings as we go along here. today I rearranged some of my yarn and even though AC Moore is having a great sale starting tomorrow lets just say I DO NOT need anymore yarn. I need yarn aholics is what I need. I can't believe how much I have, its insane!!!!!! I need to stop and use up some of what I have. I keep telling myself that and then a sale comes along and there I go and come back with another bag full!!!!! lol.

rough week

well I did not get alot accomplished this week as I accidently took too much of 1 medicine and none of the other and about put myself in the hospital! however I am feeling much better today. I did finsh this newborn blanket and I made this newborn Christmas sweater set. I also made several Santa hats. I have not got the pom poms attached yet so don't have a pic. hoping to get back in the swing of things this week as I really did not crochet much this past week :-(

MY SANTA HAT

I wanted to make Santa hats for the babies this year so Peggy and I took the candy corn hat pattern from my site and just made the santa hat! it is made with ILTY red from hobby lobby. worked up in 20 minutes. My husband makes the pom poms!

Halloween Hats

these Halloween hats are made with Simply soft brites in Mango and the trim is Herschnners halloween yarn.The skeins are small and I really don't think the yarn is appropriate to use alone but it works great for trim as it does not touch the babies skin. 1 skein did all they trim on these hats

rest of my Halloween preemie blankets

I did a total of 18 preemie blankets for Halloween. I will do at least 2 more but have basically moved to Christmas items now

boxes mailed!

mailed a large box of newborn blankets to Norton hospital in Louisville KY. Also mailed a box of burial items to FT Sanders regional Medical Center in TN. They were completely out of items for the precious ones that have passed on.There is always a need for the tiny burial items. I know sometimes we can't imagine making things that tiny but if it were not for groups like ours they would have nothing for babies this tiny :-) Came home and am packing another box of blankets to get ready to ship out. Fall is here and the weather is getting cooler. All the hospitals are wanting newborn blankets and hats. the need is so great. I am so proud of my wonderful grouip. They always come thru when there is a need!

My first Halloween blankets

these are the 1st four Halloween blankets I have done. We need 80 preemie Halloween and Christmas blankets. so I am very busy trying to get some made up!

New colors of I LOVE THIS YARN

Went to my new hobby lobby today. wow I could have spent a bundle on I love this yarn! however my husband was with me so I had to be good. it was Very well stocked with all the colors! I picked up these 3 new variegateds. they are Hot stripes, Surprise stripes and Jazz stripes.

Blanket 11 is done

I finished blanket 11 this afternoon. I want to start some Halloween preemie blankets and hats to go with the onesies for the wee ones. I am also working on some newborn Halloween and Christmas hats

Blankets 9 & 10!

I made my goal for the blanket drive! I wanted to do 10 blankets before Thursday (dr day for my hand) and I made it. I will also be done with blanket 11 by tomorrow!

Blankets 1 thru 8!

as you know Gods Tiny Angels is having a newborn blanket drive. Well I want to get 10 newborn blankets done by next Thursday as I have to go to the orthopedic dr and I don't know what the outcome is going to be. Just in case he tells me I can't crochet for a couple weeks I am trying to get them done. So here are blankets 1 thru 8 :-)

Little Disappointed

well I got my yarn yesterday and was a little disappointed in the 2 new colors of " I love this yarn" the Real Blue looks more purple to me and the Pizzaz Pink looks more like Rasberry :-( However they are still pretty just not what I expected from the pics online. I am attaching pics so you can see the colors.
