well there are so many things that need to be done I don't even know where to start. I need to be making burial gowns,(which I am not good at) burial blankets, newborn blankets and Easter preemie blankets. So where do I begin?? I have been working on mostly newborn blankets but need 80 preemie Easter blankets so I am going to switch off to them for a few days. whew........... so little time and so many needs. sometimes I just feel overwhelmed. :-( but I love what I do!! anyone else ever feel like this?? lol
here are a few more blankets I have finished. also have some sweaters I have done up and will post them in the next day or so. 2 of the blankets are the DC ripple and the other one is called twin sts . Trying to come up with some different colors and went to walmart tonight and I just can't bring myself to buy redheart super savers. They feel so rough!! I guess I am hooked on the " I LOVE THIS YARN" from Hobby Lobby. It is so much softer and nicer to work with.
well I just got off the phone with one of my contacts at one of our hospitals that we donate to. I asked her if the items such as diaper shirt sets, dresses, onesies etc are really used. She said most definitely! They love the items and are so greatful to get them. So I guess I will continue to make the dresses and Diaper shirt sets :-) I wanted to make some fro Easter but really wanted to know they were going to be used . So back to finishing the blanket I am working on so I can start a new one :-).........
this is the alternating v shell afghan. the pattern can be found here http://home.att.net/~susanBinKC/patterns.html?avshell1.html I chained 105 with a g hook. It really went fast and was very easy to make. Have really been thinking alot about what I want to make this year. I love to make the little dresses, diaper shirts, onesies etc. However I wonder if they are really useful. I am going to get in touch with a couple of my contacts at the hopsitals and see if they really use these items. I really want to focus on what is used and needed the most. although they are adorable if they are not really used I don't want to waste my time or yarn making them. I do know blankets, sweaters, hats and booties, socks are the most requested items. So will keep you posted on what I find out.......
sorry I haven't updated for a few days but rest assured I am still crocheting. :-) Just have been busy and have been a little under the weather but hopefully am getting better. Also my mom is in the hospital and have been trying to keep tabs on her.
I made a new blanket called the alternating V shell and it really worked up fast. I will try and get a pic in the next couple days. I was getting tired of making the dc ripple but who am I kidding I went right back to it lol. I like easy patterns as I have trouble following the more complicated patterns.
Today I am working on the dc ripple in off white and SS embroidery print. Hope to finish it up tomorrow . Well thats it for now.
this is my favorite pattern, It is from Annies Attic Baby Ensembles. the yarn I use is from premier yarns. I have made this same sweater in girl colors. I think you can still find the pattern book sometimes on Ebay.
well Beth called me the other nite and gave me this pattern over the phone and thought I would like it. She was right , it is a very pretty st and it makes a nice close st blanket. :-) I chained 100 with a G hook and did a total of 72 rows . takes a little longer to do than the dc ripple but it is very pretty. Thanks Beth!! I believe this pattern was on a wrapper of Jamie yarn......
today I didn't get too much done as Fridays are my busy day. :-) I went to breakfast and Walmart with my son and my dad. Daniel bought breakfast cause he won 950.00 on a superbowl board. lol. Then we went shopping and back home and I packed some boxes for my charity and got those shipped out. I did fiinish a blanket and got this little diaper shirt set made. I used an F hook and " I love this yarn".
I love this pattern, takes a little longer to complete than the DC ripple but its pretty. the pattern came from here http://www.geocities.com/craftynurs/charity.html I used a G hook (use that for all blankets ) lol I chained 103 sts and did 60 rows then added the border.
well today I got this set finished for a little girl. It is made out of " I love this yarn " from hobby lobby and the variegated is red heart dream print. Love the color but not very soft ( the red heart yarn) lol. the pattern for the blanket is the dc ripple found here http://danettesangels.tripod.com/patterns/ripple.html I used a G hook and chained 110 and did 51 rows and added the border. the shell sweater and hat pattern can be found here http://danettesangels.tripod.com/patterns/girlsweaterhat.html I also updated my totals to include the items I made in January before I started my blog :-) I have a few more items to get pics of and will do so in the next few days
